At Akoben Institute, we curate and customize African and Indigenous inspired initiations, radical rituals, and transformational passages that support optimal health, deep identity formation, and spiritual alignment. From youth stepping into adulthood, to elders walking in legacy, we honor the natural transitions of life and provide the cultural medicine our communities need to thrive.
Crossing the Threshold: The Journey of the Jegna - Level I
The Journey of the Jegna – Level I is a sacred initiatory experience for men called to steward the ancient and necessary practice of rites of passage in service to their communities. Rooted in African Indigenous wisdom and Dagara-inspired elemental teachings, this journey guides participants through transformative rituals, Sankofic reflective practices, and embodied learning. Through retreats and virtual integration sessions, men learn to design, hold, and facilitate rites of passage with integrity, cultural clarity, and collective accountability. This is a threshold for those ready to grow not only for themselves, yet for the healing and continuity of our villages.
